Makayla Filiere - Women's Basketball

In two games played last week, sophomore Makayla Filiere of the Carnegie Mellon University women's basketball team averaged 27.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.0 steals in a 1-1 week for the Tartans. Filiere closed the week with a career night in a 77-65 win against Saint Vincent where she scored a career-best 30 points, topping her previous career-best of 25 points scored Tuesday against Washington and Jefferson. In the game against Saint Vincent, Filiere connected on 6-of-7 from long range to bring her weekly total to 11-of-17 for 64.7%. She also tied her career-high in rebounds with eight. Her field-goal percentage finished the week at .525 in averaging 33.5 minutes of action.

The sophomore currently leads the UAA in scoring (21.3 ppg), steals (2.8 spg) and three-point field goal percentage (.520) through eight games played.
