Justin Allen - Men's Basketball

Sophomore Justin Allen of the Carnegie Mellon University men's basketball team helped the Tartans to a pair of UAA road wins over the weekend. The Tartans opened the weekend with an 80-77 win at Brandeis before topping 11th-ranked NYU on Sunday afternoon to complete the season series sweep over the Violets. Allen averaged 27.0 points while shooting 55.9% (19-34) from the floor, 60.0% (6-10) from behind the arc and converted 10-of-13 from the foul line for 76.9%. Against Brandeis, Allen was held scoreless in the first half and to only two shot attempts, The UAA leading scorer then finished with a game-high 25 points on 8-of-14 shooting from the floor, including scoring the final five points of the game for the Tartans. In the win at NYU, the sophomore poured in a game-high 29 points on 11-of-20 shooting. Allen has now scored 20 or more points in six straight games and in seven in the last eight.
