R.J. Holmes - Men's Basketball

Senior R.J. Holmes of the Carnegie Mellon University men's basketball team played a huge factor in the Tartans 84-74 win over #2 Case Western Reserve on Saturday afternoon to open UAA play. Holmes recorded his third double-double of the season and 18th of his career after scoring 15 points and grabbing a career-high 17 rebounds. The senior converted 7-of-9 from the foul line, including making all four from the charity stripe in the last 36 seconds of the contest to seal the victory. For the week, Holmes averaged 14.0 points and 12.0 rebounds per game after he scored 13 points, hauled down seven rebounds and shot 57.1% from the floor in the Tartans’ 73-69 setback to Ithaca College on Tuesday. Holmes now has 506 rebounds for his career and is the 20th Tartan to reach 500 for their career in program history.
