Benger Receives Second Offensive Athlete of the Week Honor

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Freshman Sam Benger (Hingham, Mass.) of the Carnegie Mellon University football team was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Offensive Athlete of the Week for his play in the Tartans' 17-16 win over Washington University Saturday, November 15.

Benger rushed for a career-high 175 yards on 24 carries for an average of 7.3 yards per touch.  He also added five receptions for 28 yards.  Benger's 175 yards marked the most by a Tartan since November 5, 2011 when Patrick Blanks rushed for 171 yards in a Tartan victory over UAA foe Chicago.
