Manoli Earns Men’s Basketball UAA Honor

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) - Carnegie Mellon University senior Christian Manoli (San Rafael, Calif./Terra Linda) was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week for his performance this past weekend.  The Tartans turned in two road victories with the first, a 95-83 victory, at Emory Friday night before topping Rochester Sunday afternoon, 76-70.

Manoli averaged 23.0 points and 8.0 rebounds while shooting 79.3% (23-29) from the charity stripe.  Manoli started the weekend pouring in a career-high 32 points in the Tartans' win at Emory.  The senior went 18-of-21 from the foul line, one made shot short of a UAA record. He also hauled in nine rebounds. In the win on Sunday at Rochester, Manoli recorded his 14th straight double figure game, scoring 14 points.  He sealed the Tartan victory connecting on all four foul shots in the closing minute.
    
Carnegie Mellon continues UAA play Friday when they entertain the Maroons of the University of Chicago.  Tip is set for 8:00 p.m. on the hardwood of Skibo Gymnasium.
