(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) - Carnegie Mellon University men's basketball junior Jack Serbin (New Albany, Ohio) was honored by D3hoops.com on the Team of the Week as well as being named University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week. Serbin helped the Tartans to a 2-0 mark to start the season with wins over Geneva College and Bethany College.

In the two contests, Serbin recorded back-to-back double-doubles. He opened the season pouring in a career-best 37 points and grabbing 15 rebounds while shooting 53.8% from the floor and converting 6-of-13 from behind the arc.  His 37 points scored were the most by a Tartan since December 3, 2005 when Nate Maurer scored 41 at Rochester.  He then led the Tartans with 24 points and 18 rebounds against Bethany.

Serbin currently ranks third in Division III in scoring and rebounding, averaging 30.5 points and 16.5 rebounds per game. He now has recorded 19 double-doubles in his career.
