Serbin Repeats on CoSIDA Academic All-District Team

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – Carnegie Mellon University junior Jack Serbin (New Albany, Ohio/New Albany) was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District 2015-16 Men's Basketball Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Serbin is one of eight players on the District 4 team and earns the honor for the second year. To be nominated for the award, a student-athlete must be a starter or significant reserve and maintain a GPA of 3.3 or better.

Carnegie Mellon is part of District 4 which is comprised of all Division III schools in the state of Pennsylvania. Serbin will now move on to the national ballot for Academic All-America recognition, an honor he received as a sophomore.

Serbin leads the Tartans and is second in the University Athletic Association (UAA) in scoring and rebounding at 18.1 points per game and 10.4 rebounds per game. He has 12 double-doubles this season, which ranks 12th nationally, while recording career highs in points (37) and rebounding (20) this season.

In the classroom, Serbin carries a 3.79 GPA as a business administration major. He has made Dean's List with high honors every semester and is a member of the Carnegie Mellon Wall Street Club and spent the summer as a financial analyst for L Brands.

The Tartans return to action Friday at the University of Chicago before facing Washington University in St. Louis on Sunday.
