(MEADVILLE, Pa.) - The Carnegie Mellon University men's basketball team traveled to Meadville, Pennsylvania, on Friday and dropped a 105-92 contest at Allegheny College.
Freshman Jack Stone (Newport Beach, Calif. / Corona Del Mar) led the team with 33 points on 12-of-22 shooting from the field. Senior Ethan Miller (King of Prussia, Pa. / Upper Merion) recorded a double-double with 19 points and 12 rebounds. The forward hit eight shots from the floor, including three from behind the arc.
Freshman R.J. Holmes (Buffalo Grove, Ill. / Adlai Stevenson) contributed 15 points while junior Will Powell (Kansas City, Mo. / Pembroke Hill) had 11 points.
Allegheny was led by Jordan Greynolds's 21 points and 12 rebounds while five other Gators scored in double figures.
The Tartans led 10-7 at 14:07 in the first half after a free throw by Powell.
The Gators led by as many as 23 points three times in the second half before the Tartans closed the last 3:38 with a 19-9 run.
