Allen Receives Tartans Second Straight UAA Weekly Honor

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Carnegie Mellon University freshman Justin Allen was honored as the University Athletic Association (UAA) Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week after leading the Tartans men's basketball team to an 87-68 victory at Oberlin College and a 4-0 start to the season, the Tartans best start since the 2014-15 season.

Allen scored 24 points on 9-of-12 shooting from the floor and 6-of-6 shooting from the free throw line in the win over the Yeomen. The 24 points for the first year were the most for him this season. He also recorded a season-best three steals in the victory.

The honor marks the Tartans second straight as senior Kevin Sax was recognized last week. Carnegie Mellon will host Penn State Behrend on Wednesday, November 30 at 7:30 p.m.
