Bio

Colin Shaunnessey begins his third season on the staff for the Carnegie Mellon University men’s basketball program in 2023-24.

Shaunnessey is a 1998 graduate of Carnegie Mellon where he earned his bachelor’s degree in industrial management. While at Carnegie Mellon, he was a two-year starter on the basketball team under the direction of current head coach Tony Wingen and served as co-captain his senior season. Shaunnessey appeared in 53 games for the Tartans and scored 315 points, grabbed 176 rebounds and handed out 58 assists.

Shaunnessey currently works as an independent consultant in the financial services industry.

"The toughness and enthusiasm that Colin displayed as a player has been transferred into his coaching role. Those traits made him a great teammate, and they have also enabled him to connect well with our players -- both as a coach and an alumnus. Our post players have certainly benefited from his daily teaching."

Shaunnessey resides in Hampton Township with wife Sara, son Jack and daughter Grace.
