Golf’s Ian Bangor Earns Second UAA Athlete of the Week Honor

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Carnegie Mellon University sophomore Ian Bangor (Moon Township, Pa./Sewickley Academy) was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Golf Athlete of the Week for the second time this season, after placing second at the  Kravetz Invitational last weekend. The Kravetz Invitational was hosted by the University of Rochester.

Bangor ended the 36-hole event with a score of 153 and tied for individual medalist, but lost the tiebreaker.   In the opening round on Friday, he carded a three-over-par 75 at the par-72 Irondequoit Country Club. On Saturday, Bangor recorded a round of 78 at the par-71 Oak Hill Country Club. He posted his sixth top-three finish this season and seventh for his career to tie for first on the school's all-time single-season list and fifth for career top-three finishes in just two years of competition.  

Bangor is also tied for the top spot in the Tartan record books with five career medalist honors.
