Men’s Golf Cards Season-Best Round at Second Day of Jekyll Island Collegiate

(JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga.) - The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team continued play at the second day of the 2016 Jekyll Island Collegiate Saturday, March 19.  The Tartans are currently tied for 18th after 36-holes of play with a two-round total of 592 (299-293). The three-day event is being played on the 6,700-yard, par-72 Pine Lakes Course on Jekyll Island. On Saturday, the Tartans shot a five-over par 293 as a team which is their best round of the season.
    
Juniors George Qian (Bettendorf, Iowa/Montverde Academy) and Jordan Klodowski (Kittanning, Pa.) along with sophomore Nikhil Mohan (Bangalore, India/Canadian International School) all entered the clubhouse on Saturday carding a one-over par 73.  Qian is currently tied for 17th individually in a field of 150 golfers with a two round score of 143 (70-73). Klodowski and Mohen have 36-hole scores of 148 (75-73) and 150 (77-73), respectively, with both tying a season-best round Saturday afternoon.

Sophomore Adrian Del Bosque (Monterrey, Mexico/IMG Academy) and junior Brad Jennette (Pittsford, N.Y./Sutherland) each carded season-best rounds as well. Del Bosque shot a 75 and has a two-day score of 152 after a round of 77 on Friday. Jennette fired a two-over par 74 and has a 154 heading into the final day of play.

The Tartans will conclude the 54-hole invitational Sunday morning and will be teeing off at 8:00 a.m.
