Men’s Golf Sets School Record at Jekyll Island Collegiate

(JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga.) - The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team finished play at the 17th Annual Jekyll Island Collegiate Sunday, March 20. The Tartans ended the 54-hole tournament tied for 16th after carding a school-record score of 888 (299-293-296) over the three rounds. The field was comprised of 30 teams which had 13 of the nation's top 25 teams in Division III and included five of the top seven. The three-day event was held on the 6,700-yard, par-72 Pine Lakes Course on Jekyll Island.
    
Sophomore Nikhil Mohan (Bangalore, India/Canadian International School) tied a career-best with an even par round of 72 on Sunday to turn in the Tartans lowest round of the afternoon. For the tournament, Mohen ended with a 222 (77-73-72). Junior George Qian (Bettendorf, Iowa/Montverde Academy) finished as the team's top performer over the 54-hole event after carding an even par 216 (70-73-73) and placed tied for 20th individually out of 150 golfers.

Junior Jordan Klodowski (Kittanning, Pa.), sophomore Adrian Del Bosque (Monterrey, Mexico/IMG Academy) and junior Brad Jennette (Pittsford, N.Y./Sutherland) all finished the event within four strokes of each other.  Klodowski shot a 225 (75-73-77), Del Bosque a 228 (77-75-76) and Jennette a 229 (80-74-75)

The Tartans will next compete at The Hershey Cup at Hershey Country Club in Hershey, Pa., April 3-4.
