Qian Named UAA Men’s Golfer of the Week

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) –Junior George Qian (Bettendorf, Iowa/Montverde Academy) of the Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Golf Athlete of the Week following his performance in helping the Tartans win their third straight tournament. The Tartans won the weather shortened Edward Jones Shootout with a school record team round of 282.

Qian finished third after carding a one-under par 69 in the cold, snowy conditions. The junior has an average of 75.3 through 17 rounds this season and an average of 73.9 through 10 rounds during spring play.

The Tartans will compete at the Fred Kravetz Invitational hosted by the University of Rochester on April 15-16. The two-day, 36-hole event will be played at Irondequoit Country Club and Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, New York.
