Arashiro Leads Tartans in Opening Round of O'Briant-Jensen Memorial

(GREENSBORO, N.C.) - The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team, ranked 25th nationally, competed in the opening round of the 36-hole O'Briant-Jensen Memorial hosted by Guilford College at the Sedgefield Country Club - Dye Course in Greensboro, North Carolina on Monday afternoon. The Tartans carded a 298 and currently are in fourth-place in the 20-team field on the par 71, 6,822-yard course.

Freshman Trevor Arashiro (Honolulu, Hawaii/Iolani) is tied for second individually in a field of 114 golfers after leading the Tartans with a one-under par 70. Senior Nikhil Mohan (Bangalore, India/Canadian International School) entered the clubhouse with a two-over par 73.

Freshman Jason Li (Sewickley, Pa./Sewickley Academy) fired a 77 in the wet conditions and windy conditions on Monday afternoon. Junior Patrick Tan (Vancouver, British Columbia/Prince of Wales Secondary) finished with a 78 while junior Austin Lin (Los Gatos, Calif./Archbishop Mitty) ended play on with an 80.

The Tartans had one individual enter the invitational, as senior Adrian Del Bosque (Monterrey, Mexico/IMG Academy) finished with a season-best round of three-over par 74.

The second round of the O'Briant-Jensen Memorial will be played on Tuesday.
