Del Bosque and Tan Named Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholars

(NORMAN, Okla.) – Senior Adrian Del Bosque (Monterrey, Mexico/IMG Academy) and junior Patrick Tan (Vancouver, British Columbia/Prince of Wales Secondary) of the Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team have been named a Division III Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). This marks the sixth straight year that Carnegie Mellon has had a golfer named a scholar and second straight with multiple golfers named.

Del Bosque, earning the honor for a second consecutive season, finished with a grade-point average of 3.37. He averaged a 76.7 through 12 rounds played this past season. He recorded a season-best round of four-under par 68 during the second round of the Wynlakes Intercollegiate.

Tan recorded a scoring average of 77.5 in 11 rounds played this season and holds a 3.46 grade-point average. Tan carded his career-best round of 67 at the O'Briant-Jensen Memorial hosted by Guilford College at the Sedgefield Country Club - Dye Course in Greensboro, North Carolina, in late October. His four-under par 67 also tied a program record.

To be eligible for Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar status, an individual must be a junior or senior academically and compete in at least two full years at the collegiate level, participate in 50-percent of his team's competitive rounds or compete in the NCAA Championships, have a stroke average under 79.0 in Division III and maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
