Men’s Golf Hosts Annual Spring Invitational

(VERONA, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team hosted its annual spring invitational on Saturday at the par 70 Longue Vue Club in Verona, Pennsylvania. The Tartans had 10 golfers compete all as individuals while Grove City College won the seven-team event after carding a 321. Top individual medalist honors went to Nate Yackovich from Saint Vincent College after shooting a one-over par 71.

Three Tartans, senior Austin Lin (Los Gatos, Calif./Archbishop Mitty), sophomore Trevor Arashiro (Honolulu, Hawaii/Iolani) and freshman Henry Scavone (Birmingham, Mich./Birmingham Seaholm), all ended the 18-hole event carding rounds of 76 and finished tied for third in a field of 45 golfers.

Senior Adrian Berger (Los Angeles, Calif./Harvard-Westlake) carded a 78 while freshman Joshua Lim (San Francisco, Calif./Lowell) ended play with a 79 and sophomore Aaron Silverstein (Fairfax, Calif./Sir Francis Drake) posted an 80.

Sophomores Jesse Keck (Germantown, Tenn./Houston) and Aryan Chordia (Dubai, UAE/Jumeriah College) entered the clubhouse with rounds of 87 and 89, respectively. Senior Nicholas Moreno (Hawthorne, Calif./Windward School) shot a 91 with sophomore Ben Huber (Hampton, Pa.) carding a 94.
