Folker Named UAA Athlete of the Week

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Senior Jason Folker (Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest) of the Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Men's Golf Athlete of the Week following his performance at the Wynlakes Intercollegiate.

Folker claimed individual medalist honors at the 36-hole Wynlakes Intercollegiate in Montgomery, Alabama, at the par 72, 6,979-yard Wynlakes Golf & Country Club Tuesday, April 13. The senior, who recorded his first collegiate medalist honor, carded six birdies during the final round and 10 for the tournament to lead the field of 71 golfers. Folker shot a five-under par 67 in the closing round, tying his career-low round, to finish with a six-under 138 (71-67). The senior also helped the Tartans place second in the 15-team field tying the school record for the lowest 36-hole tournament score of 570 (287-283).

Through 10 rounds this season he is averaging 77.1 per round.
