Tartans Open Play at Western Pennsylvania Intercollegiate
(SEWICKLEY, Pa.) - The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team opened play at the Western Pennsylvania Intercollegiate on Monday. The 36-hole event is being played at Allegheny Country Club hosted by Wittenberg University. The Cardinal and Gray fired a 297 on Monday and are in second.

How it Happened:
- Junior Brian Xu led the Tartans with a two-over par 72.
- Freshmen Andrew Wang and David Zhang both ended play with a 74.
- Sophomore Justin Chan shot a 77.
- Graduate student Henry Scavone finished Monday with a 78.
Individual Play:
- The Tartans had four individuals compete in the intercollegiate, as senior Joshua Lim led the Cardinal and Gray individuals with a two-over par 72.
- Freshman Jay Saluja carded a 73.
- Senior Morgan Yang finished with a 74.
- Junior Jack Sonne shot a 75.
Up Next:
- The second and final round of the intercollegiate will be played on Tuesday, April 18 with a shotgun start at 10:00 a.m.
