Xu and Chan Named UAA Athlete of the Week

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Senior Brian Xu and junior Justin Chan of the Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team were named University Athletic Association (UAA) Men's Golf Athlete of the Week following their performance at the Tiger Invitational hosted by Hampden-Sydney College at the Forest Creek Golf Club in Pinehurst, North Carolina.

Xu and Chan led the Tartans to a third-place finish at the 18-team 36-hole event. Both fired a two-round score of two-over par 146 tying for eighth individually in a field of 90 golfers. Xu opened play firing even par and then a 74 while Chan shot a 74 in the first round and followed with a round of even par 72.

The Tartans will next compete at the three-day Jekyll Island Invitational at King and Prince Golf Club in St. Simons Island, Georgia, beginning Friday, March 22.
