(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – For the third time this season, senior Brian Xu of the Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Men's Golf Athlete of the Week. This week, Xu received the accolade following his performance in the 54-hole The Visit Florence Intercollegiate.

Xu lead the Tartans to a 10-stroke victory over top ranked Methodist and finished 20 strokes ahead of third place and second-ranked Emory after carding a team score of 11-under par 853, the second lowest three-round score in program history.

In the final round, Xu recorded the program's first ever hole-and-one which came on the 160-yard, par 3 13th hole. The senior finished the round even par and ended the 54-hole event with a four-under par 212 (68-72-72), placing seventh. During his opening round score of four-under par 68, Xu eagled hole 12 and was the only golfer to record two eagles throughout the 54-hole event. His round of 68 also tied for the lowest round over the three rounds.
