Team Earns Academic Honor from NSCAA

(KANSAS CITY, Mo.) – The Carnegie Mellon University men's soccer team earned the NSCAA College Team Academic Award for its performance in the classroom for the 2010-2011 academic year. The Tartans are one of 220 men's teams to achieve a GPA of 3.00 or higher.

In the classroom, the 27-man roster achieved a 3.38 average GPA for the year. Ian Epperson (Bethesda, Md./Walt Whitman) was named to the NSCAA Scholar All-Region Honorable Mention team for achieving greater than a 3.30 in the classroom and playing in more than 50% of the team's games. Epperson was also named to the CoSIDA Capital One Academic All-District team in 2011.
