Sarett Heads List of Scholar All-East Region Recipients

(KANSAS CITY, Mo.) - Carnegie Mellon University junior Matt Sarett (Huntersville, N.C./Cannon) heads a list of four men's soccer athletes named to the NSCAA 2012 Men's College Division Scholar All-East Region team. This marks Sarett's second academic award of the season and second NSCAA award as he was named an All-Great Lakes Region player for his efforts on the field.

Sarett carries a 4.0 GPA in electrical and computer engineering and biomedical engineering and was named to the third team. He was a leader on the field this season scoring three goals and assisting on two as a midfielder.

Joining Sarett on the Scholar All-Region team as honorable mention selections are senior defender Ben Bryant (Toledo, Ohio/Ottawa Hills), junior midfielder Mike Ferraco (Penn Hills, Pa./Penn Hills) and junior goal keeper Christopher Madden (Reisterstown, Md./Calvert Hall). Bryant holds a 3.60 GPA in chemistry and scored five goals and led with 11 assists. Ferraco carries a 3.74 in information systems and scored three goals while assisting on two for the year. Madden played in all but one game earning a record of 12-4-1 while tallying a 1.13 goals against average. The junior keeper has a 3.90 GPA in business administration.
