McCambridge Honored on CoSIDA Academic All-America Men’s Soccer Team

(AUSTIN, Texas) – Carnegie Mellon University men's soccer junior Jack McCambridge (Bethlehem, Pa./Moravian Academy) was named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-America Men's Soccer Team for Division III. The announcement, which came out Tuesday, honors 33 men's players from across the nation.

McCambridge is a three-year starter at outside back for the Tartans who finished the year with a 1.04 goals against average and seven shutouts. As a junior, McCambridge maintains a 4.0 GPA as a mechanical engineering major with a minor in business administration.

McCambridge, who was honored on the first team, is one of eight players on the Division III Academic All-America® team with a 4.0. The 33 men have a 3.91 GPA with the first team GPA sitting at 3.94.

McCambridge is a junior year inductee to Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society, the hull engineer for CMU Solar Racing, and is a member of the CMU Hyperloop team competing in the SpaceX Hyperloop Pod Design Competition where he specifically works on the propulsion design team. He was a mechanical engineering intern for Nucor Steel in 2016 and a satellite propulsion design intern at Boeing in 2017.

Starting this winter, McCambridge will be a battery product development intern at Apple and hold the position again this summer. McCambridge is also the team's philanthropy leader where he coordinates an after-school program with Arsenal Middle School.

McCambridge is the 19th Carnegie Mellon men's soccer player to earn the honor and eighth junior.
