Tartans Top Two Teams at Univesity of Pittsburgh

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon University men's swimming and diving team traveled to the University of Pittsburgh to compete against the Panthers, Grove City College and Clarion University on Saturday, February 4. The Tartans won two out of three, defeating the Wolverines and Golden Eagles.

Junior Brandon Yee (Danville, Calif./Monte Vista) won the 200-yard butterfly in 1:54.04 while junior Daniel Glaser-Garbrick (Dayton, Ohio/Centreville) was third in 1:57.88. Glaser-Garbrick aslo picked up a third-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke in 1:58.66 while Yee was third in the 100-yard butterfly with a season-best time of 52.31.

Freshman Andrew Yee (Danville, Calif./Monte Vista) placed first in the 500-yard freestyle in 4:42.58 and touched second in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a season-best time of 9:46.33. Freshman Dylan McDermott (South Plainfield, N.J./Saint Joseph) was fourth in the 1,000-yard freestyle in 10:25.85 as freshman David Campbell (Vorhees, N.J./Eastern Regional) was fourth in the 500-yard freestyle in 4:55.21.

Freshman Cole Um (Federal Way, Wash./Bellarmine Prep) was fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:01.48 and sophomore Austin Bohn (Annville, Pa./Annville-Cleona) was fifth in 1:01.70. Um later touched third in the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:13.75.

The Tartans will be in action again at the University Athletic Association Championships at Case Western Reserve University. The meet starts on Wednesday, February 15 and concludes on Saturday, February 18.
