Tartans Top Division I Robert Morris University
(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team, ranked #19 in Division III, topped Division I Robert Morris University 8-1 Friday, January 31. The win marks the first of the spring season for the Tartans.
The tandem of junior Christian Heaney-Secord (Westwood, Mass./Westwood) and junior Will Duncan (Newbury Park, Calif./Newbury Park) topped Bruno Russo and Angus Thomson at first doubles 8-3.
The Tartans swept the six singles matches. Sophomore Abhishek Alla grabbed a win for the Tartans at first singles when he defeated Thomson 7-5, 6-2.
Heaney-Secord secured the win for the Tartans with a 6-4, 6-2 win at #2 singles over Russo.
