Freshmen Men’s Tennis Tandem Named All-UAA

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – The Carnegie Mellon University freshmen doubles team of Vayum Arora (Fremont, Calif./Mission San Jose) and Daniel Levine (Highland Park, Ill./Boca Prep International School) were honored by the University Athletic Association's (UAA) coaches on the All-UAA team. The tandem earned a spot on the second-team at No. 1 doubles following their performance at the Association Championship this past weekend.

The pair posted a record of 2-1 at the championship event with two 8-6 victories in helping the Tartans to a third-place team finish. The first win for the duo came against Scott Rubinstein and James Spaulding of the nationally topped ranked Eagles of Emory University.  They then went on to defeat Nicolas Chua and David Liu of the University of Chicago in the third-place team match while the Maroons are ranked fifth nationally.

Arora and Levine ended the regular season with a 13-6 mark in doubles play, as the duo and the rest of the team awaits to see if they are selected to compete for the NCAA Championship. Bids for the national tournament will be released on May 9 with the tournament to begin on campus sites May 12 or 13.
