Three Tartans Selected to Compete at NCAA Men’s Tennis Singles and Doubles Championships

(INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.) - The Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team will have three players compete at the 2016 NCAA Men's Tennis Singles and Doubles Championships hosted by Kalamazoo College in Kalamazoo, Michigan from May 26-28. Senior Abhishek Alla (Hyderabad, India/IMG Pendleton School) and freshmen Daniel Levine (Highland Park, Ill./Boca Prep International School) and Vayum Arora (Fremont, Calif./Mission San Jose) were selected to the tournament for their play throughout the season.

Alla will be making his third singles appearance at the championships where he finished in the quarterfinals last year and the round of 16 in his sophomore campaign. Alla has a 16-15 singles record this season, won the ITA South Atlantic Regional and played in the USTA/ITA National Small College Singles Championship in the fall.

Levine was selected to the championships as a singles player and will also pair with Arora in the doubles bracket. Levine has a 22-9 record while primarily playing No. 2 singles for the Tartans during the year. Levine and Arora played 21 matches together at first doubles for the Tartans, posting a 14-7 record and were named to the All-University Athletic Association Second Team.
