Levine Named UAA Men’s Tennis Athlete of the Week

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Junior Daniel Levine (Highland Park, Ill./Boca Prep International School) of the Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week following his performance last week.

Levine began the week winning the ITA Southeast Regional Singles Championship while finishing runner-up in the ITA Southeast Regional Doubles Championship. He closed the week with four victories as the Tartans defeated two regional opponents in Oberlin College, 6-1, and Christopher Newport University, 5-4.

Levine finished with a record of 8-0 in singles play with a 6-1 mark in doubles action. To top it off, he also earned his 100th career combined win and became the 11th player in Tartan men's history to achieve the feat and the second fastest to reach the milestone needing just 144 match-es.

Levine will begin play at the ITA Oracle Cup in Rome, Georgia, on Thursday, October 12 at 11:00 a.m. The Oracle Cup will be played through Saturday, October 14.
