#14 Tartans Finish UAA Championship Play Against #12 Spartans

(ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla.) - The 14th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team played 12th-ranked Case Western Reserve University in the fifth-place match of the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship on Sunday morning in Altamonte Springs, Florida. The Tartans dropped a 5-2 decision to the Spartans in the final dual match of the season for the Cardinal and Gray.

The Tartans trailed 2-1 following doubles play with their top tandem of seniors Daniel Levine (Highland Park, Ill. / Boca Prep International School) and Chaz Downing (Newport Beach, Calif. / Corona Del Mar) collecting the point with an 8-2 win.

Sophomore Ray Boppana (Boxborough, Mass. / Acton Boxborough Regional) won a straight set match at third singles, 6-0, 6-2 to make the score 3-2.

Carnegie Mellon finishes the season with an overall mark of 9-9.
