#24 Tartans Open Play at UAA Championship Against #9 Chicago

(ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla.) - The 24th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team opened University Athletic Association (UAA) play on Friday at Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs, Florida, and dropped a 5-2 match to ninth-ranked University of Chicago. The Tartans record is now 6-9 as the Maroons move to 15-3.

How it Happened

  • The tandem of junior Derek Wong and freshman Akshay Joshi claimed the Tartans first point of the match with an 8-6 win at the top doubles spot.
  • Joshi collected the Tartans second point with a 6-3, 6-3 win at five singles.
  • Seniors Raahil Doshi and Matthew Poh were both up a set when the match was decided.

Next Up

  • Carnegie Mellon will now play NYU on Saturday in the consolation semifinals at 12:30 p.m.
