Vandenberg Receives UAA Honor

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Sophomore Thomas Vandenberg (Mamaroneck, N.Y./Mamaroneck) of the Carnegie Mellon University men's outdoor track and field team was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week following his performance at the W&L Track and Field Carnival hosted by Washington and Lee University, Friday and Saturday, March 22-23.

Vandenberg turned in the Tartans' lone first-place finish recording a time of 1:53.31 in the 800-meter race that consisted of a field of 77 runners. His time currently ranks third in Division III.

The Tartans will be back in action when they host the Carnegie Mellon Mini-Invite Saturday, March 30. Field events are set to start at 10:00 a.m. with the first running event to take place at 12:00 p.m.
