Schofel Named ECAC Corvias South Field Athlete of the Week

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – Junior Jacob Schofel (Livingston, N.J.) of the Carnegie Mellon University men's outdoor track and field team the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Corvias South Field Athlete of the Week. The honor comes following his performance at the Carnegie Mellon Mini Invitational on Friday and Saturday, March 24-25.

Schofel won the hammer throw and discus with two career-best tosses. His mark of 53.84 meters in the hammer is currently tops in the University Athletic Association (UAA) and ranks fifth nationally while his 42.63-meter throw in the discus is also tops in the UAA.   

The Tartans will host the Carnegie Mellon Quad on Saturday, April 1 with field events set to start at 10:00 a.m.
