Tartans Complete Indoor Season at NCAA Championships

(BOSTON, Mass.) - Three Carnegie Mellon University men's track and field athletes competed at the final day of the 2019 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday. This year's championships are being held at the Reggie Lewis Center with the University of Massachusetts Boston and the City of Boston serving as hosts.

Junior Evan Yukevich (Tokyo, Japan / American School in Japan) ran in the finals of the mile run and placed ninth with a time of 4:19.63 while senior Will Mitchell (Chatham, N.J. / Chatham) finished 12th in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 8:45.83.

Freshman Justin Kiefel (Downingtown, Pa. / Downingtown STEM Academy) finished his first indoor season with a 14th-place showing in the triple jump with a mark of 14.21 meters.

The outdoor season begins for the Tartans at the Washington and Lee University Track and Field Carnival on Friday, March 15.
