Kiefel and Miller Earn All-America Status at NCAA Indoor Championships, Tartans Place Tied for 6th

(WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.) – Senior Justin Kiefel (Downingtown, Pa. / Downingtown STEM Academy) and graduate student Bram Miller (Colgate, Wis. / Kettle Moraine Lutheran) of the Carnegie Mellon University men's indoor track and field team earned All-America recognition at the 2022 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday with both placing second in their respective event. The Tartans placed in a tie for sixth as a team with 26 points, the highest finish in program history at the NCAA Indoor Championships.

Kiefel topped his previous school record in the triple jump on Saturday by 0.09 meters with a mark of 14.94 meters. Miller's national runner-up finish came in the shot put as he tossed the element 16.85 meters.

The Cardinal and Gray earned four All-America honors throughout the championships, which is the most in program history at the indoor event, including three national runner-up showings. The championships were held at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, with Visit Winston-Salem and Guilford College serving as hosts.
