Tartans Compete at Dave Labor Invitational
(SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa.) - The Carnegie Mellon University men's track and field team competed at the Dave Labor Invitational hosted by Slippery Rock University on Saturday. The Tartans turned in numerous top performances against a field of Division I, II and III athletes.
Senior Justin Kiefel (Downingtown, Pa. / Downingtown STEM Academy) won the triple and long jump events with marks of 14.68 meters and 7.23 meters.
Graduate student Bram Miller (Colgate, Wis. / Kettle Moraine Lutheran) won the discus with a throw of 49.94 meters.
Sophomore Pranav Rajbhandari (Marietta, Ga. / Walton) won the 400-meter run with a time of 50.66. Freshman Aleksei Seletskiy (Palo Alto, Calif. / Palo Alto) won the 1,500-meter run when he crossed in 3:56.11.
Sophomore Andrew McGovern (Lexington, Mass. / Lexington) placed second in the 400-meter hurdles in 55.03.
The Tartans will next compete at the Westminster Invitational Saturday, April 9.
