Tartans Compete at Saint Francis University Red Flash Open

(LORETTO, Pa.) - Members of the Carnegie Mellon University men's track and field team competed at the Red Flash Open hosted by Saint Francis University on Saturday, April 30.

Top results are as follows:

Graduate student Bram Miller (Colgate, Wis. / Kettle Moraine Lutheran) won the discus throw with a mark of 46.20 meters.

Junior Bailey O'Malley (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Baldwin) placed sixth in the shot put with a mark of 15.15 meters, which is the fourth-best toss in program history, and sixth in the hammer throw with a distance of 46.67 meters.

Freshman Cody Breidenbach (Nazareth, Pa. / Nazareth Area) was victorious in the hammer throw with a distance of 52.06 meters.

Sophomore Thomas Rich (Rochester, N.Y. / Brighton) competed in the 400-meter run and the discus for the first time in his career, placing fifth in the 400-meter run in 50.80 seconds and placed 15th in the discus with a toss of 30.40 meters.

Senior Michael Cai (Dumont, N.J. / Bergen County Academies) was third in the 400-meter run, finishing in 50.05 seconds.

Next up for the Tartans is the West Virginia University Last Chance meet on May 6 and 7.
