Tartans Run in Schenley Park at Duquesne Duals

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon University men's cross country team ran in a familar place at Pittsburgh's Schenley Park on Saturday, September 3 for the Duquesne Duals. The race was the season opener for the Tartans who competed against Duquesne and Canisus.

Finishing first for the Tartans was freshman Josh Antonson (Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley) in 26th place overall in a time of 28:18. Sophomore Brendan O'Hara (Chicago, Ill./Latin School of Chicago) was close behind in 28th place in 28:32.

Sophomore Matthew Kusbit (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel) finished 29th in his first cross country race, crossing the finish line in 28:37. Junior Ben Finch (Newton, Mass./Newton South) was next for the Tartans in 30th place in 28:37.

Junior Marc McGeary (Harrisburg, Pa./C.D. East) stayed with the Tartan pack and finished 32nd in 28:40 while graduate student Jono Matusky (Ardmore, Pa./Haverford) was 38th in 28:47.

The Tartans will race again on Friday, September 16 at Cooper's Lake Campground for the Slippery Rock Invitational at 5:45 p.m.
