Newby Receives UAA and ECAC Honor

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Carnegie Mellon University junior Josh Newby (Palo Alto, Calif./Palo Alto) was named University Athletic Association (UAA) and Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week.  Newby earned the honor following his performance at the Lock Haven River Run Saturday, September 22.

Newby led the Tartans to the title at the invite against a field of Division II and Division I club runners. In Newby's second race of the season he finished with another top five showing after crossing second overall in a time of 25:15.0 which was two seconds behind the leader from Lock Haven.

The Tartans will host the Carnegie Mellon Invite on Saturday, October 6 at 1:45 p.m.
