Connelly Named Mid-Atlantic Region Coach of the Year

(NEW ORLEANS, La.) - Carnegie Mellon University head men's cross country coach Tim Connelly was named NCAA Division III Mid-Atlantic Region Coach of the Year for the 2022collegiate season by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. It marks the fourth straight season Connelly has received the accolade and it comes following leading the ninth-ranked Tartans to their fourth consecutive regional title and seventh in school history.

The Tartans won the regional meet by placing five runners in the top eight and seven in the top 24. With the top finish, the Cardinal and Gray received the automatic bid to the 2022 NCAA Championships. This will mark Carnegie Mellon's 27th appearance and eighth straight competing at the championship race

The Tartans will compete at the NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships hosted by Olivet College at the Forest Akers East Golf Course in East Lansing, Michigan on Saturday, November 19 with the men's race set to begin at 11:00 a.m.
