Song Concludes Career with All-Region Recognition

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – Carnegie Mellon University senior infielder Emily Song (Mount Arlington, N.J. / Roxbury) was named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Region VII Second Team to conclude her four-year career for the Tartans. Song was honored for her play at second base for the Tartans and is the fourth Tartan to earn regional recognition in the program's four years of competition.

Song became the second player in program history to record 100 hits, as she finished with 102 in 297 at bats and 100 games played. Song set season records of 20 stolen bases and 28 runs scored this year while she holds the career records at 52 stolen bases and 80 runs scored. The senior finished second on the team this season with 34 hits while tying for the most at bats at 101. Song also knocked in 17 runs which was second-best on the team and finished with a .337 batting average. Of her 34 hits, two were home runs and seven were doubles. She leaves the program with the most doubles at 19 for her career.

In the field, Song started 29 games at second base where she had a .953 fielding percentage with 85 chances, making 55 putouts with 26 assists and four errors.
