Women’s Golf Competes in Inaugural Event

(GREENVILLE, Pa.) – An historic day for Carnegie Mellon University Athletics took place on Saturday, April 5 when the women's golf team competed in its inaugural event at the Thiel College Invitational.  The event was being held at The Greens of Greenville in Greenville, Pennsylvania. For the 2013-14 season the Tartans are playing as club team status before competing at the intercollegiate level next season.

Carnegie Mellon competed in a field of seven teams and placed sixth with a team score of 446. Two Tartans placed in the top six individually in a field of 33 golfers. Senior Ali Nichols (Portland, Ore./Jesuit) led Carnegie Mellon with a fourth-place finish as she shot 94 while sophomore Yoon Hee Ha (Tigard, Ore.) tied for sixth after carding a 97.  Also competing for the Tartans were junior Brooke Kuei (East Brunswick, N.J.) and freshman Molly Higgins (Vero Beach, Fla.).

The Tartans will hit the links once again on Thursday, April 10 when they participate in the Saint Vincent Invitational held at Glengarry Golf Links in Latrobe, Pennsylvania.
