Tan Honored by UAA for Play

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) - Carnegie Mellon University freshman golfer Robin Tan (Austin, Texas/Westlake) was honored by the University Athletic Association (UAA) as the UAA Women's Golfer of the Week for her performance at the Purple and White Invitational hosted by Capital University on April 2-3.

Tan led the Tartans to a fourth-place team finish as she tied for the top individual spot following 36-holes of play. Officially, Tan claimed second after a tiebreaker based on a hole-by-hole playoff from the second round scores. Tan improved 14 strokes during round two to card a 77 and finished with a two-round score of 168.

The Tartans return to the course on Saturday, April 11 at the Westminster College Spring Invitational played at New Castle Country Club in New Castle, Pennsylvania. The Tartans placed second at the fall event hosted by Westminster at the same course in their first tournament as a program.
