Women’s Golf Continues Setting Records at Jekyll Island Collegiate

(JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga.) - The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team closed play at the 2016 Jekyll Island Collegiate Sunday, March 20.  The Tartans finished 13th with a three-round total of 990 (330-318-342) on the par-72, 5,801-yard course at the Indian Mounds Golf Club on Jekyll Island. The 54-hole tournament was comprised of 23 Division III teams including 10 ranked in the top 25 nationally.  The Tartans' 990 is the best three-round score in the programs young history.  
    
Sophomore Summer Kitahara (Greenwich, Conn./Rye Country Day) closed play with a 79 on Sunday, finishing with a three-day total of 226 (76-71-79) and tied for 9th-place in a field of 120 golfers. Freshman Carly Jordan (San Juan Capistrano, Calif./St. Margaret's Episcopal School) totaled a 242 after carding rounds of 78, 80 and 83.
    
Sophomore Emma Hoskins (Libertyville, Ill./Libertyville) shot a 91 on Sunday and ended with a 258 (85-81-91) for the three-day event. Classmate Isabelle Tseng (Plainsboro, N.J./West Windsor-Plainsboro South) and senior Yoon Hee Ha (Tigard, Ore.) both carded rounds of 90 on  Sunday and finished with a 268 (92-86-90) and 270 (90-90-90), respectively.

The Tartans will next be on the course at Grove City Country Club for the Grove City Spring Invitational on Saturday, April 2.
