Albi Receives Second Straight UAA Weekly Honor

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – For the second straight week Carnegie Mellon University junior keeper Anna Albi (Cincinnati, Ohio/Summit Country Day) was named Women's Soccer Defensive Athlete of the Week by the University Athletic Association (UAA) for her performance in leading the 19th-ranked Tartans to a 0-0 tie over 8th-ranked Emory University.

Albi recorded her sixth shutout of the season and third in UAA play in the 0-0 tie. Albi made nine saves including two in the second overtime and is second in the Association in goals against average at .51.

With the tie, the Tartans also finished second in the UAA and received a bid to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in school history.

The Tartans will now host the NCAA Division III First and Second Rounds on Saturday and Sunday, November 10-11.  They will play Cabrini College Saturday at 11:00 a.m. with the winner playing the winner of the Ohio Northern / Rochester Institute of Technology game on Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
