Ebrahimi Honored By UAA

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Carnegie Mellon University senior Mitra Ebrahimi (Bethesda, Md./Walter Johnson) was named Women's Soccer Defensive Athlete of the Week by the University Athletic Association (UAA) for her performance in the Tartans' two NCAA victories, the first in program history, over the weekend in Pittsburgh.

Ebrahimi controlled the defensive line that allowed a total of six shots, all in the Ohio Northern game, with zero goals allowed helping the Tartans record two more shutouts. The center back also had multiple offensive opportunities as two headers were just wide of the goal against Cabrini.

The Tartans will play Wheaton (Mass.) College in the third round of the Division III NCAA Championship on Saturday, November 13.  Game time is set for 1:30 p.m. on the campus of Carnegie Mellon University.
