Carnegie Mellon Selected to Host Women’s Soccer NCAA Sectional

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – Carnegie Mellon University will once again serve as host for the 2012 NCAA Division III Women's Championship as the Tartan women's soccer team advanced to the third round with a 1-0 win over Ohio Northern University on Sunday, November 11. The third round of the NCAA Championship is set to begin on Saturday, November 17 with two games at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. as the quarterfinal will be played on Sunday, November 18 at 1:30 p.m.

The Tartans (13-1-4) are continuing their best season in program history and are currently ranked 17th in the nation by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. They will matchup with Wheaton (Mass.) College, who is ranked 25th in the nation and hold a record of 18-1-6, on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.

Loras (Iowa) College, ranked 19th in the nation and Emory University, ranked 16th in the nation will play in the other third round game at 11:00 a.m., with the winners moving on to Sunday's quarterfinal and the chance to go to the final four. The Loras Duhawks have a record of 19-4 while the Emory Eagles are 13-1-6.

Sunday's winner will move on to the NCAA Final Four which will be played in San Antonio, Texas on Friday, November 30 and Saturday, December 1.
