Albi Earns Third UAA Athlete of the Week Award

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) - Carnegie Mellon University junior goalkeeper Anna Albi (Cincinnati, Ohio/Summit Country Day) was named University Athletic Association Women's Soccer Defensive Athlete of the Week for her performance in the Tartans' third round and quarterfinal games of the 2012 NCAA Division III Championship over the weekend. Albi garnered the award after earning two shutouts in net for the Tartans.

In Saturday's 3-0 win against Wheaton (Mass.) College in the third round, the Tartans set a school record with their 14th win of the season. Albi also recorded her 14th win and set the single-season mark for goalkeepers. Sunday's 0-0 tie against Emory University in the quarterfinals gave Albi her ninth shutout of the season and set a new school record of 13 for the team. The shutout also marked the seventh straight which ties a school record.

Albi made three saves in the win over Wheaton and five in the tie against Emory. She finished the season giving up just eight goals and recorded a goals against average of .41 which is second best in school history.
