Iatarola Honored as Corvias ECAC South Rookie of the Week

(Danbury, Conn.) - Carnegie Mellon University women's soccer freshman Tori Iatarola (West Dundee, Ill./Loyola Academy) was honored by the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) as the Corvias ECAC Division III South Rookie of the Week for her performance last week as the Tartans went 2-0 and moved to 6-0 for the year.

Iatarola had a dominant weekend for the undefeated and nationally ranked women's soccer team as she assisted on a goal and registered her first career score. The first year player's assist came in the team's 6-2 win over Washington & Jefferson, Friday, September 12, when she placed a corner kick right on the head of senior Jordyn Greenberg (Scottsdale, Ariz./Desert Mountain) for a goal in the 28th minute, giving the Tartans a 2-0 lead. She also took two shots against the Presidents putting one on goal. Her first career score came in the 81st minute in a 1-0 road win at Capital University where she tallied seven shots for the game, including three on goal.

The Tartans are now ranked fifth nationally and will be back on the field on Saturday, September 20 at Grove City College at 2:00 p.m.
