Reid Garners All-America Honors from NSCAA, Three Others Earn All-Region Accolades

(KANSAS CITY, Mo.) – Carnegie Mellon University women's soccer senior Savina Reid (Briarcliff Manor, N.Y./Briarcliff) was honored by the nation's coaches as an NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division III All-American for her outstanding play this season in leading the Tartans to a 16-2-1 record and two wins in the NCAA tournament. Reid garnered second-team honors and was also named to the Great Lakes All-Region team along with three teammates.

Reid finished with 11 goals scored and five assists this season, which led the Tartans and the University Athletic Association (UAA). She becomes the third All-American in program history with her selection to the second team. Her all-region honor marks the third of her career and second post to the first team.

Joining Reid as an all-region first-team selection is freshman defender Keely Jelinek (Anchorage, Alaska/South Anchorage). The first-year player started every game for the Tartans as a central defender and helped the team to a school-record 16 wins. The team also tied the school record for fewest goals allowed at eight and finished with a goals against average of 0.41, which led the UAA and was 10th in the nation. Jelinek also contributed offensively, scoring the game-winner against University of Chicago.

Freshman Tori Iatarola (West Dundee, Ill./Loyola Academy) and junior Carson Quiros (Atlanta, Ga./Whitefield Academy) earned second-team all-region honors. Iatarola was second on the team in points with 16, leading the way with six assists. Of her five goals scored, two were game-winners, which came in back-to-back 1-0 victories. Quiros was a leader on the field from her defensive midfield position. She also scored two goals and assisted on another. Both of her goals were game-winners with one coming in UAA play against Brandeis University.

The four regional honors marks the most in one season for the women's soccer program, while Reid is the first All-American since Amanda Rose earned the recognition in 2007.
